About FarmCo

Why we started

FarmCo began with a simple problem. Good food was all around us, but it was too hard for most people to find, buy and build into their normal weekly shop.

Small farms were growing better food than the supermarket shelf could explain. Bakers, dairies, butchers and growers had the craft, the soil, the animals and the knowledge, but not always the time, tech or reach.

So we built FarmCo as a bridge. A place where you can buy food with a face, a farm, a place and a story behind it.

The new model

A marketplace built around farms, not warehouses.

FarmCo is changing from a traditional shop into a producer led marketplace. That matters. It means farmers and food makers can sell through FarmCo while keeping control of what they sell, when it is available, how it is fulfilled and what it costs.

1

Producers list their food

Farms and makers add products, manage stock, set prices and tell customers exactly where their food comes from.

2

You order in one place

You can shop across local producers in one website, from veg boxes and meat boxes to bread, dairy, pantry goods and seasonal specials.

3

Food moves with purpose

Orders are organised around collection, local delivery and producer routes, so the system works for the people making the food.

What we believe

Food should be honest, local and worth knowing about.

We are not trying to copy supermarkets. We are building another route. One that gives customers better food, gives producers a fairer route to market and keeps more money moving through local farms and food businesses.

Local first

We prioritise Welsh farms and food makers. Local food builds stronger towns, stronger rural businesses and a more resilient food system.

Known producers

You should know who made your food, where it came from and why it matters. Traceability should feel normal.

Regenerative thinking

We support farming that respects soil, animals, seasons and land. That includes pasture fed meat, organic growing and food made with care.

Fairer food trade

Producers need a better route than chasing supermarket margins. FarmCo gives them a direct online channel without each producer needing their own shop.

Our producers

The best food comes from people who care about the details.

FarmCo brings together farms and food makers across Wales, from organic growers and pasture fed meat producers to artisan bakers, dairies, fermenters, fishmongers and pantry makers.

Where we are going

One market for the food Wales does best.

The next stage is bigger than an online shop. FarmCo is building the digital layer for local food, where each producer has their place, each customer can find food nearby and each community can support the farms around it.

More farms selling direct through FarmCo.
More collection points, local routes and producer led fulfilment.
A stronger map of Welsh food, from coast to valley.
A weekly shop that keeps more money with real food businesses.
