Heating Up
Something’s happening across Wales. A quiet revolution of steam and fire.
Outdoor saunas are popping up in some of the most beautiful corners of the country. Tucked into coves. Perched above estuaries. Hidden in valleys or rolled onto beaches in the back of a van.
The benefits? Plenty. Regular sauna use has been linked to better circulation, immune support, deep muscle relaxation, and a good night’s sleep.
We’re not here to rank or rate. These are some we’ve found, visited, and loved. If we’ve missed one, let us know.
Two barrel saunas parked right on the sand. Sea swims, steam, and stunning views. Events with Harline’s sell out for a reason.
Visit Ty Sawna
Right on the harbour with big ocean energy. Pair with a beach walk and a pint at the pub after. Clean, simple, coastal.
Visit Sea & Steam
Hidden at the Papermill Fishery — a beautifully built sauna next to the water, surrounded by green. Feels like a local secret.
View on FacebookA mobile sauna setting up across Gower. Catch them on a clear night and it’s magic. Follow their socials for updates.
Visit Sauna Hut
Set in the trees and full of charm. This wood-fired spot feels off-grid without being miles away.
Book Sauna y Coed
A Finnish-style sauna right by the sea. Sea views, silence, and a deep respect for the tradition. Community and calm in one.
Visit HikitaloKnow Another One?
These are just a few of the spots we’ve visited or bookmarked. Know a hidden gem? Let us know — we’ll keep this list growing.
It’s not a trend. It’s a return. Heat, breath, cold water. Coffee after. Wales is made for this.
